Manila, Philippines – The ASIYA: Asian Music Festival & Conference 2024 transformed the World Trade Center in Pasay into a pulsating hub of musical energy on October 12 and 13. The event, brought to life by KARPOS, was an eclectic celebration of music, culture, and creativity, drawing in thousands of eager fans and industry professionals alike.
The festival kicked off with an exciting lineup of performers that set the tone for the weekend. GABBA and NUMCHA opened the first day, introducing the crowd to their unique sounds, seamlessly blending experimental electronic vibes and indie influences. The momentum built up as Reese Lansangan, with her deeply personal songwriting and engaging performances, won over the crowd. This was followed by the chill yet powerful sounds of Babychair, the groovy beats of UDD (formerly known as Up Dharma Down), and Korean indie sensation Colde, who delivered an atmospheric set. The night crescendoed with iconic performances from Urbandub, still rocking hard after years in the industry, and international favorites Hyukoh and Sunset Rollercoaster, who mesmerized the audience with their dynamic and genre-defying performances.
Day two of the festival was equally electrifying. The crowd was immediately captivated by Ysanygo, whose vibrant energy got everyone moving, followed by 9M88, a Taiwanese artist blending soul and jazz with a modern twist. Zild, the Filipino alternative icon, delivered a raw and energetic performance that kept the audience on their feet, while Shye brought a refreshing electro-pop vibe. The final acts on day two—Juan Karlos, with his rock-tinged hit songs, Balming Tiger, the rising Korean hip-hop collective, and the nation's girl group, BINI—brought the festival to a spectacular close, leaving the audience wanting more.
Beyond the performances, the festival offered much more for attendees to enjoy. The grounds were filled with food stalls offering diverse culinary options, photo booths that captured memorable moments, and merchandise stands where fans could take home exclusive festival souvenirs. A major highlight was the conference sessions, featuring industry leaders from some of the biggest music festivals in Europe and Asia. These sessions provided invaluable insights into the behind-the-scenes workings of large-scale events, inspiring budding artists and event organizers in the audience.
The ASIYA: Asian Music Festival & Conference 2024 was more than just a music event—it was a celebration of culture, creativity, and the power of live performances to unite people. Attendees left with unforgettable memories, buzzing with anticipation for what the festival has in store next year. KARPOS once again proved its ability to curate experiences that not only highlight top-tier musical talent but also foster a vibrant community of music lovers.
